Lot Cottage is a beautiful and cosy former shippon, now restored and ideally situated for one or two people to enjoy the wonderful area that is Dartmoor

The cottage is situated in the centre of the small village of Lydford which lays midway between Tavistock and Okehampton and within the Dartmoor National Park. It takes minutes to be on the moor, and the famous National Trust – Lydford Gorge is a 10 minute walk away. 

The North Devon area of Dartmooor is reknown for its walking, cycling and other outdoor pursuits, spectacular views and friendly local people. 

Within a short walking distance of the cottage is a local pub “The Castle Inn” an Italian Restaurant “The Cascada” and the well known “Dartmoor Inn”.

The cottage itself was recently restored from a roofless, windowless derelict former shippon now accommodating a large double bedroom with ample cupboard space and underfloor heating, with a lovely en-suite, fully tiled, large mist free mirror and walk in shower. 

A cosy lounge takes in a solid oak floor, wood burner with natural slate hearth and fire surround, comfortable leather sofa and chair, TV and DVD. Conservation skylights within a sloping ceiling allow in natural light. 

Adjoining the lounge is the fully equipped kitchen fitted with granite worktops, washer dryer, refrigerator, oven and hob.

Outside is a small terrace with table and chairs, BBQ and original granite steps leading down to the roadside and off road parking for a small vehicle.

A well behaved dog is also welcome as a guest, and will enjoy nice long walks.
